Alberti bass

Alberti bass. Simple (and often commonplace) acc. to a melody, consisting of ‘broken chords’, i.e. broken triads of which the notes are played in the order: lowest, highest, middle, highest. It takes its name from the It. composer who favoured it, Domenico Alberti.
