Career: Lewis- Clark State College, Lewiston, ID, poet-in-residence, assistant professor, and associate professor of English, 1977-99; University of Idaho, professor of English, 1999-. Warren Wilson College, poetry faculty member, 1989, 1990, and 1998; visiting professor at US universities; University of Montana, Richard Hugo Distinguished Poet-in-Residence, 1990 and 1995; instructor, visiting writer, and fellow at writers conferences around the US; appeared on radio programs; readings presented at colleges, universities, and other arts venues around the United States.
