Taught courses on Mexican and Chicano literature and cinema at the university and junior college level; directed a muralpainting project in Santa Barbara parks and schools; Casa de la Raza, Santa Barbara, CA, executive director; Xalman (magazine), Santa Barbara, co-founder, 1977; and founder of a publishing company of the same name. Publications: Luna llena, 1979; October: Memories of a Chicano, 1986; Copper Thunderbird/ Pajarotrueno de cobre, 1989; Para morir en tus brazos y compromiso, 1989; Poemas de un emigrante/Poems of an Immigrant, 1990.
