SIDKY, H. American, b. 1956. Genres: Anthropology/Ethnology. Career: Miami University, Oxford, OH, assistant professor of anthropology, 1994-. Conducted field research among the Islamic people of Afghanistan, 1979, among the Rapanui of Easter Island, 1989, among the Hunzakut people of Northern Pakistan, 1990-91 and 1998, and in Alice Springs, Australia, 1998. Performed forensic facial reconstructions for the coroner's offices of Marion County and Franklin County, OH, 1988-89. Publications: Hunza: An Ethnographic Outline, 1995; Irrigation and State Formation in Hunza: The Anthropology of a Hydraulic Kingdom, 1996; Witchcraft, Lycanthropy, Drugs, and Disease: An Anthropological Study of the European Witch- Persecutions, 1997.
