Prizzi's Honor
Prizzi's Honor ★★★ 1985 (R)
Highly stylized, sometimes leaden black comedy about Vharley Partana (Nicholson), an aging and nonetobright hit man from a New York mob family who breaks with family loyalties when he falls for Irene Walker (Turner), an upwardly mobile tax consultant who's also a hired killer. Skirting caricature in every frame, Nicholson is excellent in his portrayal of the thickskulled mobster, as are Angelica Huston as the hottotrot Mafia daughter Maerose and Hickey as Don Prizzi. Adapted by Condon and Roach from Condon's novel. 130m/C VHS, DVD .
