Osmosis Jones
Osmosis Jones ★★½ 2001 (PG-13)
Combo of animation and live-action concerns a slob named Frank (Murray) who's suffering from an evil virus (Fishburne) that's taking over his body. To the rescue are white blood cell Osmosis Jones (Rock) and cold tablet Drix (Pierce). The Farrellys once again push the envelope of gross-out humor, but this time it's a PG envelope, and the live-action sequences suffer for it, especially when compared to the funny, clever, and high-energy animated sequences. Luckily, the animation comprises about two-thirds of the movie. Kids will enjoy the lively animation and the gross stuff, while the adults should have a good enough time picking out the puns and references to other movies. Murray goes to heroic lengths to portray Frank's devotion to self-degradation. 95m/C VHS, DVD .
