In the Company of Men ★★ 1996 (R)

A couple of dissatisfied Yuppies, Chad (Eckhart) and Howard (Malloy), are sent on a sixweek job out of town by their home office. Grumbling about the lack of control in their lives (and blaming it on women), Chad formulates a nasty plan (to which Howard eventually agrees)—they'll deliberately get involved with the same girl, secretary Christine (Edwards), string her along, and then abandon her when their job is done. But Chad actually has his own agenda and bigger corporate ideas in mind. Think misogynistic satire. 93m/C VHS, DVD . Matt Malloy, Aaron Eckhart, Stacy Edwards, Mark Rector, Jason Dixie, Emily Cline, Michael Martin, Chris Hayes; D: Neil LaBute; W: Neil LaBute; C: Anthony P. Hettinger; M: Ken Williams. Ind. Spirit ‘98: Debut Perf. (Eckhart); Ind. Spirit ‘99: First Screenplay; Sundance ‘97: Filmmakers Trophy.
