Company Man
Company Man ★★ 2000 (PG-13)
Goofy satire about the Bay of Pigs invasion cowritten and codirected by McGrath, who also stars as a wimpy grammar teacher who, through some bizarre coincidences, manages, unwittingly, to cause the Cold War debacle. Though the big name cast seems to be having fun, absurdity abounds and eventually topples this romping, madcap throwback. Woody Allen makes an appearance as a CIA veteran in Cuba. 81m/C VHS, DVD . Douglas McGrath, Sigourney Weaver, John Turturro, Anthony LaPaglia, Ryan Phillippe, Denis Leary, Alan Cumming, Woody Allen, Heather Matarazzo, Jeffrey Jones; D: Douglas McGrath, Peter Askin; W: Douglas McGrath, Peter Askin; C: Russell Boyd; M: David Lawrence.
