Children of Men
Children of Men ★★★ 2006 (R)
The future's never fun. It's 2027 and there's global infertility and worldwide chaos, which doesn't matter much to British bureaucratic drone Theo Faron (Owen), until he's pulled into an activist group headed by his ex, Julian (Moore). Seems she needs Faron to take illegal refugee Kee (Ashitay), who's pregnant with the first child conceived in 18 years, to safety. This involves a long, strange, and dangerous trip—and a stop at Theo's pothead friend Jasper's (a raucous Caine) cottage. Dark and dreary yet oddly fascinating. Loosely based on the 1993 novel by P.D. James. 108m/C DVD, HD DVD .
