The '60s ★★ ½ 1999 (PG-13)

A quick trip through the decade of peace, love, and Vietnam, told with all the usual cliches. Film uses the parallel stories of two families to hit the high points—the white, middleclass Herlihy family of Chicago and the black Taylor family of Mississippi. You've got hippies, Black Panthers, civil rights, the war, the anti-war movement, drugs, and rock 'n' roll. The sound-track may be the best thing the miniseries has going for it. 171m/C VHS, DVD . Jerry O'Connell, Josh Hamilton, Julia Stiles, Bill Smitrovich, Annie Corley, Leonard Roberts, Charles S. Dutton, Jordana Brewster, David Alan Grier, Jeremy Sisto, Cliff Gorman, Donovan Leitch, Carnie Wilson, Rosanna Arquette; D: Mark Piznarski; W: Jeffrey Alladin Fiskin; C: Michael D. O'Shea. TV
