osprey Hawk that lives beside lakes and in coastal regions of all continents except Antarctica. It has a short hooked bill, broad ragged wings, and a white head; it has brownish-black plumage on its back and a cream breast. Length: 51–61cm (20–24in). Family Pandionidae, species Pandion haliaetus.
