Celtic cross
Celtic cross. Monumental carved stone cross consisting of a vertical shaft and horizontal arms with a circlet, its centre at the intersection, linking the blocky forms at the extremities of the arms with the shaft and the base of the shrine-like superstructure with pitched roof that crowns the composition. Also called wheel-head cross.
