Description:

Independent Moravian, comprehensive, women only. Awards bachelor's and master's degrees (only students age 23 or over are eligible to enroll part-time; men may attend evening program only). Founded 1772. Setting: 57-acre urban campus. Endowment: $47.2 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $4532 per student. Total enrollment: 1,114. Faculty: 92 (57 full-time, 35 part-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 13:1. 439 applied, 66% were admitted. 30% from top 10% of their high school class, 61% from top quarter, 85% from top half. 4 valedictorians, 24 student government officers. Full-time: 723 students. Part-time: 184 students. Costs Per Year:

Application fee: $30. Comprehensive fee: $25,360 includes full-time tuition ($16,275), mandatory fees ($215), and college room and board ($8870). Part-time tuition: $860 per course. Part time tuition applies only to students in the Adult Degree Program.

Collegiate Environment:

Orientation program. Drama-theater group, choral group, marching band, student-run newspaper. Social organizations: 41 open to all. Most popular organizations: Student Government Association, Onua, Campus Activities Council, International Club, Ambassadors. Major annual events: Fall Fest, Dance Weekends, Candlelight Christmas Service. Student services: health clinic, personal-psychological counseling. Campus security: 24-hour emergency response devices and patrols, late night transport-escort service, controlled dormitory access. 488 college housing spaces available; 458 were occupied in 2003-04. Freshmen guaranteed college housing. On-campus residence required through senior year. Gramley Library plus 1 other with 132,510 books, 302,534 microform titles, 631 serials, 13,553 audiovisual materials, an OPAC, and a Web page. Operations spending 2003-04: $502,126. 54 computers available on campus for general student use. A campuswide network can be accessed from student residence rooms and from off campus. Staffed computer lab on campus.
