Description: State-supported, comprehensive, coed. Part of Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Awards associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Founded 1897. Setting: 40-acre rural campus with easy access to Oklahoma City. Total enrollment: 3,008. 2,088 applied, 50% were admitted. Full-time: 2,230 students, 56% women, 44% men. Part-time: 666 students, 63% women, 37% men. Students come from 37 states and territories, 8 other countries, 2% Native American, 1% Hispanic, 75% black, 0.4% Asian American or Pacific Islander, 1% international, 20% 25 or older. Academic areas with the most degrees conferred: health professions and related sciences; education; psychology. Core. Calendar: semesters. Academic remediation for entering students, services for LD students, advanced placement, accelerated degree program, honors program, summer session for credit, part-time degree program, adult/continuing education programs, co-op programs and internships, graduate courses open to undergrads. Community Environment: Langston is a small rural community located 40 miles northeast of Oklahoma City and 90 miles west of Tulsa, OK.
