Sino-Japanese floral region Part of R. Good's (1974, The Geography of the Flowering Plants) Boreal Realm, which corresponds geographically with the Sino-Himalayan-Tibetan mountains, northern and central China, and Japan. The region is differentiated by more than 300 endemic genera (see endemism), and contains in fact the richest flora in the northern temperate zone. A vast number of garden plants are native to the region, as are a number of important economic plants. See also floral province and floristic region.
