Agnew, Roy (Ewing)
Agnew, Roy (Ewing), Australian pianist, teacher, and composer; b. Sydney, Aug. 23, 1893; d. there, Nov. 12, 1944. He studied with Gerrard Williams in London (1923–28). He was director of the Australian Radio (1938–43), and also taught at the New South Wales State Conservatorium of Music in Sydney. Among his works were orch. pieces, chamber music, many piano pieces, including sonatas, and songs.
